Marketing through email can seem complicated and overwhelming. It can actually be quite simple. An email campaign, when done right, can build loyalty and directly drive sales revenue.
Here are some email marketing best practices:
WHAT?
Keep your emails short and to the point. Engage readers with short, easy-to-read content.
Use a relevant subject line that relates directly to the content within the email.
Avoid large font sizes and spam trigger words & phrases.
Include a strong call-to-action that clearly tells the reader what you want them to do.
Avoid using only images. Large images will slow the download process and may deter them from reading your email all together.
HOW?
Email marketing programs like MailChimp make it easy to upload your email list, create a template and get your email campaign started right away. The best part…you can start out for free! At least to a certain list size. You don’t have to figure this out all on your own.
WHEN?
Typically, the hours that see the most email opens are 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. But the great thing about programs like MailChimp is that they offer specific data about your list and industry. You will be able to see when your readers are opening emails and hit the send button at the ideal time.
